Susan Elizabeth Parr, age 76 of Ocean View, DE formerly of Baltimore, MD passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at her home. Ms. Parr was born on September 2, 1935 in Baltimore, MD daughter of the late David and Mary (Connolly) Parr. Sue spent her lifetime in the healthcare industry. She worked as a R.N. for 20 years at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Sue also worked in long term care and taught “Medicine Aide” and medical terminology for the lay person at the Community College of Essex in Maryland. Ms. Parr was a volunteer for Delaware Health & Social Services for 10 years, volunteered at Renaissance Nursing Center in Millsboro, DE and was a member of Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, DE. She is survived by a sister, Cora Burgan of Ocean View; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Connie Burgan of Ocean View; 2 nephews, Vernon Burgan of Felton, DE and Brian Burgan and his wife Barbie of Westminster, MD; a niece, Janet Nicholson of Ocean View, DE and 2 great nephews, Kenny George of New Castle, DE and Brendin Burgan of Westminster, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 at Mariner’s Bethel U.M. Church, Central Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Sue’s name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE. 19963 or Mariner’s Bethel U.M. Church, 81 Central Ave, Ocean View, DE. 19970.
