Charles Rizzo, Jr.

U.S. Veteran

Charles “Charlie” Rizzo, Jr., age 68 of Milton, DE formerly of Bronx, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE.

Mr. Rizzo was born in New York City, NY on March 30, 1944 son of the late Charles and Theresa (Aquiviva) Rizzo, Sr. Charlie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired from Con Edison of New York Power & Light after 30 years of service as a high voltage trouble shooter. He then served as a business representative and safety director of the Local 1-2 Utility Worker’s Union. Mr. Rizzo was a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro and a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, DE.

He is survived by a son, Anthony Rizzo and his wife Elissa of Budd Lake, NJ; 2 daughters, Jennifer Gulledge and her husband Jim of Succasunna, NJ and Christina Goldberg and her husband Jay of Somerset, NJ; 2 sisters, Rosetta Rizzo of Lutherville, MD and Gina Rizzo of Georgia and 3 grandchildren, Christopher Goldberg, James Rizzo and Joshua Rizzo all of NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21st at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Dr., Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Charles’ name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE. 19963.
